The idea of grabbing a plant and rubbing the leaves all over your face and the rest of your body may not be appealing to you, but be aware that herbal skin care is one of the most effective skin treatments out there. In my opinion using the right plants is much cheaper and healthier for your skin than any skin cream or product you will find, even the ones that call themselves “botanicals.” Almost all skin creams contain tons of chemicals and junk you don’t want on your skin. Yes, there are a few products that are completely organic and those are fine, but do your research because it is easy to get fooled.

Your skin is a sponge and absorbs anything you put onto it. Therefore, you do not want to put anything on your skin you would not eat. Pick up a bottle of skin cream, read the ingredients, and see if it is something you would eat. If you can ingest each of the ingredients it is fine to use.
